Is this the future of restaurants?

// December 16th, 2009 // Brand

My brother took me to a sushi restaurant in London recently and I was mezmerised by the entire experience. Check out the video below.

Is this how all of our restaurant interactions will be in the future? Would you be ok with that? What part of a restaurant experience is customer service vs. food, ambiance, etc.? I’m keen to hear your thoughts.

    This is not by a long shot the future of restaurants :) Its very very cool, but it’s a gimmick, and doesn’t tell the customer anything about food quality or waitstaff quality.

    i think it’ll go over well with the hipster arsty crowd, but in reality is pretty far removed from what a good dining out experience should be about. not to mention: Cant wait to see how many failed dates its the cause of as the guy is more interested in playing with the table than actually interacting with his date ;)

    It’s so funny you say that, look at this response I got from someone who’s been there: http://twitter.com/LeanneBeesley/status/6735733805

    Not sure it’s the future of restaurants, but I can certainly see it being big in Japan!

  4. Love it! Thanks for sharing Alex. BTW how was the food?!

    Was this Microsoft Surface?

    @Rich not bad at all! Not the best sushi in London but still very serviceable.

    @Jason no it was actually based on overhead projectors, believe it or not.
