Gary Vee

An inspirational Gary Vee speech. He is a cool guy who has started his own business called Wine Library TV http://tv.winelibrary.com/ and it is a great show. But it doesn't matter what product he is selling or made, what matters is his speech which should be an inspiration to anyone sitting on their ass wondering why their life sucks.

I began watching it and I thought this kind of sounds like a Woody Allen monologue on crack, so instantly engaging and slightly adorable. He is basically saying stop saying why you can't do something and just do it already. It is more directed towards to people in the internet industry, however could be applied to anyone in any situation.

Have you ever heard that annoying person who won't shut up about ... losing weight, stopping smoking, or even quitting being an alcoholic or a drug user, a prostitute even. They realize after they did something and worked hard.. they did it and they want to tell the world and empower others to do the same. His speech is an "I did it and so can you," which can be annoying sometimes.. but that annoyance is mostly that he is right. You can do stuff.... you just need to put the effort in an stop being a lazy ass.

Why not?

Tagged :p

:) My sister, Donna, tagged me on her blog.. haha. Cute. Here are the rules. I like rule number 4. Very pushy.. that's hot.

1. Post the rules on your blog
2. Write 6 random things about yourself
3. Tag 6 people at the end of your post
4. If you are tagged, DO IT and pass it along

I like these because they get to say look at me I am unique! Not really :p We are all following some fad or lifestyle and could probably be mapped out in a family tree like graph of supposed coolness. Anyway, I will attempt uniqueness :p

Bullseye style!!

IIIIIIIIINNNNNNNNNNNNNNN ONE!

My left ear sticks out more than my right one. I sleep on that side of my head with my ear folded forward and I guess over the years it has bent? I didn't mean to do this.

IIIIIIIIINNNNNNNNNNNNNNN TWO!

I won't eat yellow cheese unless it is on a burger. For instance, in the US cheddar is yellow and in the UK it is white. Therefore I only eat cheddar in the UK.

IIIIIIIIINNNNNNNNNNNNNNN THREE!

I had a tumor. I am sick of telling the story. I was 16, it was huge, not cancerous, on my back, hence the 3 inch scar on my left shoulder. Fun nicknames such as Tumerella.

IIIIIIIIINNNNNNNNNNNNNNN FOUR!

I am allergic to most fruit and fructose and corn syrup. I won't die, it is just extremely painful and makes me feel nautious. Small doses are fine (Like a bite), small amounts of sucrose ie normal table sugar is fine, and cooked fruit is fine. I can have bananas and tomatoes. Apple and grapes are the worst and this also includes most juices. THIS IS THE REASON I ONLY DRINK DIET SODA.

IIIIIIIIINNNNNNNNNNNNNNN FIVE!

I had braces from 2nd grade to 9th grade. Seven years of hell. My teeth were not that bad.. my dentist was a dick and later sued for malpractice by another patient. I think he lost his license. He stabbed a wire through my cheek once and I bit him and wouldn't let go. I just remember him yelling FUUUCKKK!!! until I let go. He was actually known for being a good dentist, but he was a dick who got too cocky.

IIIIIIIINNNNNNNNNNNNNNNN SIX!

I start choking when I am VERY happy or get VERY excited. Such a nuisance. It is actually just embarrassing making snorting and choking noises for about 5 seconds and then stopping suddenly and trying to explain "what in the hell THAT was." I know some people have their eyes water or tear up with joy etc.. Yeah I choke.

Things that make me choke: favorite songs, anticipation of seeing people, cute kids, usually things that catch me off guard. Alex made me choke when he and Mike surprised me with his arrival to the US when we were teens.

IIIIIIIIIINNNNNNNNNNNNNN SEVEN!

:/ no seven. no more.

Who to tag... Noelle? I don't have many blogger friends and I would just be stealing Noelle and Alex's friends if I tagged anyone else.

Bewb milk

Lisa and I were hanging out waiting to go to bed when I found an oddly titled show on the tv guide. Other People's Breast milk (The Times review of the show.) It was about 11pm and being in the UK it could have been part of the weekly porn sex show, or sexcetera another sex show, or sex in the naughties ( a sex talk show).. or just a weird documentary. Luckily it was the latter. Although I have watched the others in amusement.. the weekly porn show does a trl mtvish run down of who is doing what to who in the porn industry, and live on set shots and interviews. Its funny seeing two people having sex and someone commenting, literaly, enthuesiastically with a microphone on how on how "wicked and fresh," this new movie will be. It is hilarious.... but I have gone off track.

On the breast milk show, the question was is it okay to swap breast milk with other people through various ways. Nursing someone's elses child, letting another child nurse from you, wet nurses, breast feeding parties where you pass the kids around, breast milk donation to couples who can't breast feed, breast milk instead of formula and breast milk as a cure for cancer to name the most touched on parts.

The deal is, and as many of the women in the documentary state, this is how women have been feeding babies for years. Not through formula. If a baby was hungry, it was normal for any milk producing mother to feed it, no matter whose child it was. I agree, it doesn't sound that crazy.

All of the mothers admit that many people look down on this nowadays and usually do not talk about it. Some didn't want to be filmed. The ones that did want to be filmed also seemed to enjoy showing everyone their boobs... like okay I am going to see some boobs and stuff... but occasionally, it was like okay I get it.. you have gigantic nipples from 7 years of feeding 36 babies.

I won't highlight the whole documentary so I will get to how I felt about it. I don't know about letting someone else breast feed my baby. I would absolutely take milk from another woman and bottle feed, or in an emergency would I let someone else. They had sisters who swapped babies and I would do that with no issue. I just feel that breast feeding is a bonding experience and your child feeding with a woman you didn't know, it would make me feel uncomfortable or jealous. Like I said, family, or possibly friends in certain situations, sure. I have even thought about when I have children to breastfeed and pump immediately, so Alex can feed them and bond as well. Some women say this is a neat thing to do... dunno..

---> Oh and there was this creepy woman who never had kids or breast milk who would take kids she baby sat and let them suckle to calm them down. She never asked permission from the mother because she thought it was just the "natural thing to do." It got even more weird when she said it was sexual.. the presenter asked to explain and give her a chance because that sounded odd and she insisted no it was sexual. OKAY WEIRDO.. if I ever came home to a woman who was just letting my kid suck on her without my consent.. I would have called the cops.

It was weird because the next day my sister said she wanted to donate her breast milk. I think that is awesome and wonderful. There was another inspiring woman on the show that I think was one of those above and beyond things and definitely an exception. She went to Somalia?? and saw some starving babies. She had left her child at home with carers and her husband so she was still producing milk. She just picked up the babies and started to feed. She spent her 2 week vacation doing this. She ended up going back a month later to continue. The babies survived and she still visits them.

Also the next day, I found out a family secret :p My mum in law and her friends had breast feed each others babies. Not for the cross feeding benefits or anything, but because they were baby sitting a hungry breast feeding baby and they had the necessary equipment. This was a shock but I could also see not being upset if my best friend or sister was watching my kid and did the same..

I think women should be able to breast feed in public. I think breast is best. But I think the mum's breast is best and if it is not available, breast milk donation is the best. I think in the US it costs with insurance about 3 dollars for 8 oz? It is free in the UK. No mothers are paid to donate in either country, however, having a wetnurse is different and you pay a ton.

So here is the run down:

Will I breast feed? Yes
Will I give formula? If my baby is lactose intolerant and it is doc recommended.
Will I breast feed other babies? If in need and or only with permission.
Will I let someone breast feed my baby? Only a sibling, donated milk in a bottle, or a trusted friend but it wouldn't be a regular or for fun thing.
Would I donate my milk? Of course but unfortunately it doesn't always go to babies. Some people buy it because they feel it can cure their cancer. If it was proven, okay, but give babies a chance.
Would I let a nutty lady with no breast milk watch my babies and let her let them suck on her bewbs? Umm.. no.

Another Useless Video

Figured I would end my posts for the day with this video. I was forced to watch it with a bunch of stoners who played it over and over again for about 4 hours straight and laughing and loving every moment. The whole room would go "AWWWW!!!!???? do it again!!!" every time the video ended.

I dunno what is more funny, the quirky video or my memory of a bunch of high people acting like this puppet and hearing literally the same beat over and over again for hours. Maybe I was brainwashed? I still like it though. And even to this day I have to watch it about 5 times before I can move on with my day.

Mr. Oizo was not as big in the US as it was in the UK and Flat Eric the puppet was in like a chain of levi's commercials. This was all about 11 years ago too.

Super.

Great so everyone here says.. oh no poisonous spiders in England blah blah blah. I just freakin hate them. Apparently it is now the season and within the couple weeks, I have come across five. Oh and by the way this is what they look like.

Yes, the ones I see are this large. 3-4 inches is how big they are.
750px-Tegenaria_duellica.JPG

WHAT THE FUCK!!! It is called the "common house spider" here although also known more appropriately by the name, The Giant house spider or Tegenaria Gigantea. It is related to the domestic house spider and the hobo spider in North America. I really don't think calling it common or domestic really helps though because these things are huge and to me uncommon, and they are not doing "domestic" housework even though they are large enough to. If they were folding my laundry I would be happier but no.. they are looking for mates so are freely wandering our patio and last night the stairs.

We took a picture of one we caught in a cup and it is definitely this thing. It is not poisonous but does bite. ( sorry Noelle.. that is the lump you found on your leg) One also got one of my cats and left a stinger thing in her paw which I removed with tweezers. I am constantly freaking out now thinking there is one on me. The one last night is the fifth one I have seen in a couple weeks, but it was my closest encounter.

The good news is, my cats can kill them and have... and then the kitties make weird sounds until we follow them out to see their kill. I have been praising them and giving them treats because this has been helpful. Last night I heard one of my cats literally scream which she sometimes does when play fighting. She did it again and I thought this sounds strange so I went to investigate. It was on the stairs and they were scared of it and she must have poked it a few times. It was alive and kicking so Alex caught it in a cup and released it outside. I would rather have crushed it to death but oh well.

Other facts about the spider: males are commonly 3-4 inches wide with females slightly smaller, they held the Guinness world record for fastest spider, and right now it is their mating season. Again, super. I am going to buy loads of bug killer today.
