Road Trip

I finally went on a mini adventure. It was unplanned and spontaneous for the most part. I went to Yosemite, it's so beautiful there. I have to admit, I did keep comparing to Yellowstone.
On the up to Yosemite, we stopped at the outlets in Tulare (Too-lar) : ). I finally found my shoes... I've been searching for my whole life. Once we arrived in Yosemite, we had to find a campground. That did take awhile, but have no fear our task was accomplished. We set up the tent (Thanks Erin) and started to put the food in the bear safe container, I noticed somebody's food... well, mainly alcohol was being stored in that container, but no tent or tag to say that the spot was taken. Needless to say, we had to move the tent and our belongings to another site. I moved my truck and as I was trying to park all fancy, for no apparent reason (since we were going to leave shortly) I backed into a tree...now I have a nice dent on the driver's side bumper. My poor truck! Oh well, what are you going to do?? On Wednesday we were extremely active. We biked, hiked, and bouldered (as Tricia calls it) I just say rock climbing/scrambling. On Thursday we went to see the trees :). The giant redwoods, they are huge!

Things I learned about myself on this adventure:
I need to shower at least once a day to maintain my happiness...(no showers)
I become very cranky and irritable when my blood sugar is low
I like to push myself past my limits
I learned that I'm to dependant on my cell phone (no cell reception)
I learned not to carry a digital camera in my pocket while "bouldering" unless it's in a case
I need to take a mini adventure at least once a month

Things I learned in general:
There are descent strangers in this world
That good things are worth the wait
It is a $300 to $5000 dollar fine to feed deer the apples off the ground that they were eating...it's ok if the deer eats the apple off the ground, but to have the deer take it from your hand is when you run into trouble
That a peace of mind is only 5 hours away
When the sign says 2 miles an hour it really means 2 miles an hour

Yosemite has a lot of catching up to Yellowstone. Yellowstone just has more accomondations for its vistors. Yosemite is for the true outdoors men/women...who don't mind a little dirt on them for more than a few hours. : )

I'm still on vacation until the 23rd, so who knows what adventures still lie ahead.
