Shopping lesson

Picking up a few things from local shopping places around my house can be very interesting... let me share with you two stories I've experienced in two days.

First story: Some reason lately I've had an interest in shampoos. It's driving my mom nuts apparently because when I was in Ireland she took all the bottles out of my shower and put them under the sink. She couldn't understand why I needed so many different kinds of shampoo brands in the shower all at the same time. I call it options. I miss sharing a bathroom with roommates and trying out all of their stuff... um... I mean, it wasn't me...

So here are me and Crystal in the shampoo isle smelling them and bargain shopping. So I end up getting Tresemee (tresemme, ooooo la la). It was on sale, 2 for 5 bucks. Can't pass that up. So I get to the register lady and she scans it in and totals it up and the sale price didn't register. So I tell the chick, hey those were labeled 2 for 5. So she unscans them and replies back to me, "That means they're free." Hell yah! So I guess at Albertsons (yes damnit, I crossed the picket line) they have a nifty policy that if it doesn't register, it's free. So boys and girls go to the Albertsons on Westminster and Golden West and pick up some free shampoo and conditioner. Crystal was going to run back and get some, but the lady told her, "Nope now that I know, it doesn't work." Just don't go to the express line.

Second story: Yesterday after my morning shift I stopped into the local liquor store to check out phone cards. They usually have some pretty sweet deals. Dumb me didn't bring any money, wallet, license, nada with me to work that day so I was pretty much just price checking. So I ask the nice man at the counter for a little help finding the cheapest card to call Ireland. The guy was super nice, actually clean, and friendly too, so it wasn't too scary when he came across the counter and walked to the front door where all the rates were listed for each country. Keep in mind that it is 10am. So as he is explaining and pointing to each different option I get a whiff of his breath... the guy had already been drinking something pretty damn strong. Now I know some people out there think I am a drinker and a half, but 10am! Come on! I only do that on vacation, not when I have to be at work in the morning. =0Þ

Quality, quality... so the moral of the story... let's go try buying some liquor at Albertsons that's on sale!
