Rohnert Park

So I made it up to Rohnert Park and back again safely and ticketless! Yay! It was so amazing to be back up there. Just being in the town alone was, I know this is completely cheesy, but magical. I walked around campus and felt at home again. I remembered old smells, good ones; the Sonoma aroma wasn't out and about. I forgot how people up there on campus walk and just make eye contact with everyone. They don't stare at the ground or pretend to be looking somewhere else. It was just nice. The campus has changed a lot too. It's just growing so much from the time I started there as a freshman. Crazy.

I also spent some time driving around the town and revisiting all my old places I lived. Monkey made the trip too! He really liked how green everything was.

I got to see quite a few people while I was up to which was a little unexpected. I ran into people in restaurants and such, but come on, RoPo isn't that big of a place. Driving home gave me a lot of time to think. As I drove away looking at the rolling green mountains and breathing in the clean air, I couldn't help but wonder if I truly miss being up there or if it was just the past and security calling to me.

When I was up there my biggest responsibility was going to school. Besides that I was getting the "college experience." I was surrounded by my friends. When I was up there I really didn't reminisce about the good old days. I lived in the present. I just enjoyed being up there. Goodness... I don't know. I still have a lot of thinking to do.
