Ok, I still haven't had the inevitable horrible Kaiser experience, but I keep feeling like they are trying to cross sell me. For example, I scheduled an EYE exam and my appointment notice includes the following... NOTE: You may need a Pap smear. Please discuss with your physician or schedule at your next visit.
Then as I'm there, I get a notice from the eye RN type person in regards to doing blood work and checking my cholesterol. Good thing I got out while I did, or I could have had eye, Pap, and blood drawn. Just like Walmart, you can pick up some DVDs, tampons, and stop for some fries all at once.
Posted by tricia at February 24, 2005 12:37 PMYou gotta love one-stop health care. I have the same thing happen to me up here with my group. I go in to see my Hema, and she asks how am I doing with my Gyno. and tells me I'm due to see my PCP. Very strange knowing they all share information. It's kinda nice, though, being able to get all your medical records from one place.
Posted by: Lindsay at February 24, 2005 01:08 PMKaiser is the devil. God knows that I want to drive all the way over to the nearest one, have an appointment scheduled for 4, arrive at 3:30 and then be seen at 5. Oh, and have the doctor come in, slam the chart down and say, "What's wrong?"
Oh, and all I needed was a referral to see a dermatologist. Stupid HMOs. I miss Scripps :(
