Cross Training?

Wow, getting on the bike today totally kicked my arse. Heidi, me, and our friend Jean headed up to Tapanga Canyon today to do some mountain biking. More like mountain walking for me! The hills were pretty steap, but worse, never ending. We did get a few sweet declines. We also saw some deer! All I know is while I was walking my bike up a hill trying not to throw up, I thought to myself... what the heck did I get myself into?

On a lighter note, a friend of ours is making up a training schedule for us. Hopefully this will get me in gear and I won't be walking my bike up the hills in June!

"Resolutions" for 2006
I always hated the ideas of false resolutions that are bound the be broken in a month or two because people make them just to make them at the top of the new year. The connotation of them sucks too... but here it goes anyway:

Eat better - No more eating out for lunch all the time (for real this time), eating breakfast that doesn't consist of starbucks and a pastry, and stocking up the fridge so cooking dinner is a creative process not a scavenger hunt.

Cut back the beer - Just beacuse it's a dollar on Sundays doesn't mean I have to drink it.

Follow my training - Just do it. Start healthy habits now so I'm not slowed down before my time.

That's it for now. Wish me luck. Be good everyone and have a save, happy, and healthy new year for you and those that are dear to you. *HUGS*

X-GAMES

Ok, so I know I am lagging on my updates, but this was too cute to miss.

Friday Heidi and I rode our bikes to work. (Go us!) On our way we stopped at Edgar Kids Club and since it was a non-student day there were tons of kids out and about. Of course they all came to greet us because we looked too cool wearing our helmets and rolling up on our bikes. We decided to ride the mountain bikes. Anyway, a cute little 3rd grader asked me, "Wow are you BMX bikers? Are you going to be in the x-games?" It was too cute. I laughed and said... "no, we aren't THAT good, but we did bike to work from Long Beach." "Loooooooong Beach, woooooooow!" His smile was ear to ear. It was entirely too precious!
